how it started

In 1961, Mrs. Reaves extended an invitation for family to meet at the her home in Vineland, New Jersey.  On her lawn, we celebrate family and God's glory and grace for bring us together. Family from six different states were present; from as far north as New York and Pennsylvania; as far west as Illinois and Ohio;  and from the delta south, and our state of origin, Mississippi. She suggested a gathering more often outside of a homegoing service...

Several months later, the family gather again this time for a funeral.  Going on the Mrs. Reaves words and direction, the first official meeting was conducted and George Lewis held the first annual Lewis, Wilson, and Donald Family Reunion in Harrisburg, PA in 1962 on the last Sunday in July.
